The Honey-Do's are becoming Honey-DOES!!!

Okay so the other day I was feeling very sleepy and thought since the house was clean, baby was nappin', and Mat wasn't around to see, I would take a quick little power nap. I was pleasantly surprised to be woken up by the sounds of possibly someone attacking my house. :) I followed the lacquer smell up the stairs to find this! I got a base cabinet in my upper laundry. Miracles do happen! Not only did he do it, but I only waited a few days (we will pretend that I didn't ask him to do it when we built the house and he told me it wouldn't fit).
For my birthday (which was only last month) I asked for somewhere, anywhere, to hang all of my necklaces. I get pretty frustrated untangling them in the drawer every time I go to wear them. Go figure. Anyways, he made me this awesome board for all of my bling.
This is also a birthday request. We have this little flat-screen in our bedroom. When we originally built the house we had the t.v. connections wired in a different spot. So we may have put a few (unfixed) holes in the wall when we decided we didn't like that spot. I've been wanting something to cover up the holes desperately and finally have a cute little frame for the t.v.. Now if I could just clean it. lol

This is the BIG thing that I've ached for since we built! When we talked about our house Mat asked me to cut out things in magazines that I liked and start a folder with everything I wanted to incorporate in the house. Who needs a folder when I remember EVERYTHING? One thing I really wanted was wood windows with grid. When we priced out the windows I wanted they were going to be 3 times the cost! Needless to say we opted out. Mat however, had reassured me that I could have grid on my transom windows along the back of the house and on the front door. After being in the house a year I threw a small...okay BIG fit that the windows needed to get done. Mostly because they still had the raw wood exposed. After 2 years in the house half are completed. My front door however has been a sore spot for me. There was no tint on the windows so we were quite exposed to the outside world (not good for someone who likes to hang out in their skivvies in the morning) also, the wood in the front entry has become drastically bleached. Not to mention that I love the look of grid! This week Mat finally got around to installing (at least the front part) the grid on the doors. I seriously LOVE it! I smile every time I walk by. It also works pretty good when the "doorbell ditchers" (aka the boys that are in love with Bailey) come around. Now we can stand right inside and watch them come up the walk, jump out and Bailey can chase them doused in her perfume yelling at them to stop. (She LOVES it by the way).

Back to school!

So summertime has run its course and school is back in session. Can I get a big WOOT WOOT?!!! Not that I don't adore my kids and love everything that summertime brings along with it, I just have a hard time with so many kids, and so very often. Plus, my kids and I just get along better when we are on a schedule somewhat. I love fall too! I love to watch my boys play soccer, cheer Bailey on at cheer, and I just love the feeling in the air. This is the kids 4th day back to school and I love it. Peyton and I get to play all day and I feel like I am actually reclaiming some of my sanity back.

Bailey's first day of school look. She actually had a "friend" tell her it wasn't cute. Please!
Always need some pics of Peyton too!

Aren't you supposed to dress up the baby and take pictures while the older kids are away?

My little stud Caleb. He's such a hottie.

My boys.

Easton's first day of 1st grade. He was so excited to start back at school. So sweet.

Two more weeks...

I love my yard. I spend at least as much, (if not more) time on it than I do on the inside of the home. I love everything being lush and trimmed. I love to reap the rewards of the veggies in the garden and feel totally self-sufficient when I open one of the cans of food I've done myself. I have one problem with my yard however. I can only do so much. Well, I've been overwhelmed lately with Mat working a ton of hours and trying to get through the summer and all. The yard needless to say has suffered. Suffered from not only my neglect but from Mat's as well. He works really hard on building beautiful additions to the yard and planting our awesome garden he has a hard time with finishing up the project or ignoring problems before it's too late. He's promised that in two weeks our lawn will be lush and green again and he will have more time around the house. Of course that was a week ago and the only work on it has been done by me. I guess whatever works huh? I spent the good part of Saturday, watering, mowing, and trimming and made some progress. Yea! I mostly wanted to post this so that I can look back in a few years and see how much the yard will have changed. (Hopefully by then I'll have the mister system that I got for my birthday over a year ago in place and the broken hammock will be fixed.) :)Peyton helping me water the lawn. :)
My Mother's Day present a few years ago. One of my favorite places ever.
Those poor little dry spots. :(
From far away it doesn't look too bad eh?

The more "productive" of the two gardens. I love that we can grow corn!

Happy Birthday Bailey!

I didn't post on Bailey's birthday but a day later is okay right? Bailey turned 10 this year and I can't believe how fast time has gone. It really feels like not too long ago we were chasing her around in the stores and teaching her to sing "I Love to See the Temple." Bailey is such an amazing little girl. She has the kindest heart. For her birthday this year we let her have 3 of her closer friends over for a sleepover. We took them to the Olive Garden and Bailey got sang to by the wait staff. She loved it. Of course she always loves attention. We came back and the girls had facials and gave themselves pedicures. This year Bailey wanted an Imod scooter for her gift. They are a little pricier than mom and dad usually spend so she saved up part of her own money to get it. It is so cute and she's already had a blast with it. We love her so much and we're so glad to have had the last 10 years with her and look forward to many more.

4th of July Weekend 2009

We had such a blast this past weekend. Mat took Friday off (which is always a bonus) and we headed out to the Rockin' Holt Ranch. It was our first time taking the camper out this year and luckily the air was working. It was hot and tons of bugs everywhere. We loved having a cool, bug free place to let Peyton nap. The showers are nice to have also since we were all covered with dirt and bug spray. It was so fun to have all the family camp out together. Mat put a new battery in the kids 4-wheeler that hasn't run in way too long, and it ran non-stop. The kids found 5 arrowheads including a really nice one that Caleb found. Mat and I had Peyton on a 4-wheeler ride a ways away from camp and got caught in a little down pour. She didn't care a bit she was too interested in all the scenery we passed by. We took the kids fishing Saturday and I offered $50 to the first kid to swim across the pond. Wishing it would have motivated my own kids I was tickled that 8 year old Jayden took the prize. It was a pretty good swim and he did get a bit of help from his uncle Mat but the kid earned it and will have a great story to look back on. We came back that day and let the kids swim at Grandpa and Grandma Nelson's then lit fireworks off in the front yard. Sunday we slept in and missed sacrament for the 11:00 session. I guess we were pretty tired. Mat's back at work in Vegas today and we have to get back to reality but what a fun relaxing weekend. :)

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to tell my good-looking hubby Happy Father's Day! Our kids couldn't ask for a better dad. If for some reason you're not spending as much time as you want with them it is because you are working way to hard to provide everything for us. You are such an amazing guy! I can't believe how hard you work for us and how much you really do love us. Thank you for all that you do.

Peyton Turns 1!

Happy Birthday to my little sweetheart! It seems like such a miracle that we've got to have you part of our family for the last year. After losing not one but two babies your dad and I had resolved that having another baby wasn't in the cards for us. We didn't let your brothers and sister know that we were expecting you right away. We didn't want them to be sad in case we lost you. Bailey even said one day that if we had a baby and it was a girl she should be named Peyton. Dad and I just looked at each other and knew we were expecting, and that your name would be Peyton if you were a girl, and smiled. We had such a good feeling about you! I had a bad dream one night that daddy brought me a baby girl from heaven. The bad part was that daddy was in heaven too. We were VERY nervous up until we had you. Once we had you in our arms we couldn't quite believe we actually had you here. We had you at 11:00 am and brought you home that night at 10:00pm. We couldn't get over how chubby you were. You weighed in at 9 pounds! Of course you lost weight right away and have been a little runt ever since. Your first tooth appeared at five months right around the time you were learning to sit up! You started to crawl at six months and last month started walking! You are such a smart, happy, beautiful baby. We LOVE you soooo much! Happy Birthday Peyton!

Aunt Amber made you this ADORABLE cake!
