A few weeks ago we were invited by our neighbors to spend a week at their beach house in Mexico. Of course we were totally on board. We were a little unsure about it being a 10 hour drive to and from where their house was but it sounded like a welcome relief. Admittedly as we came closer and closer to reaching the destination I grew more and more weary that it would be worth a 10 hour drive through what seemed like never-ending desert. As soon as I stepped out of the van however it was worth it.
The house was amazing! It was literally on the beach and the cool breeze from the ocean was heavenly. We were spoil with every amenity we could want besides a pool. Of course the ocean WAS just in the backyard so we made do. ;)
We went with our neighbors and another family so there were plenty of friends for Peyton and the boys but none for Bailey so we let her bring a friend from home.
The seascape was awesome in Puerto Paenasco. Once a day the tide would come right up to the steps from the beach house and once a day it would recede a couple of hundred yards back so the kids could, skim board, swim, body board, and fish all in one spot. They loved riding the ATVs to the estuary and jumping the Razor over the sand dunes. One day the even hooked up a knee board to the back of the Razor.
We live very fortunate lives. Our kids have traveled to Mexico before but always on cruise ships. It was a great opportunity for them to see more of the way of life for the residents of Mexico. We came home very appreciative of all that we have.
Easton will probably never forget getting lost in Mexico and being found by a security guard. I will never forget Peyton doing 20 push ups because she thought the police there required that if you ran into them. We made so many great memories and hope one day to be invited back to create more.
